| History | The Akiyoshidai International Art Village was conceived as a place to develop creative activities in various fields of arts, including contemporary music, visual arts, and performing arts. The concept of a residency program builds upon two preceding local projects: the Akiyoshidai International 20th Century Music Seminar and Festival, held every summer in Shuho-cho and Yamaguchi City since 1988; and Shuho Town Cultural Exchange House, established by Shuho-cho in 1993. |
