| Facility Description | Kyoto Art Center is housed in a historic and cultural building which used to be Meirin Elementary School. Founded in 1869 and closed in 1993, the original school building was constructed by donations from local residents.

| Program Objectives | Kyoto Art Center aims to facilitate artists to meet and inspire one another, and, also, provide the local residents with opportunities to appreciate the arts. The artist-in-residence program is designed to enable young artists and researchers to explore innovative expressions in a cross-cultural environment. It provides artists with support for residency, production, and presentation. |
