Objectives
RIPS-CGP Security Studies Fellowship Program, administrated by the Research Institute for Peace and Security (RIPS)Link and is operated in collaboration with RIPS and CGP, aims to cultivate excellent young researchers with a global viewpoint in the field of security in Japan.

The program endeavors to rear experts who will contribute to security studies, domestically and internationally, by providing the young researchers interested in this area with a research scholarship and by holding research seminars to provide support for specialized research. At the same time, the program aims to heighten academic interest relating to international security, arms control, strategic studies, Japanese security issues and other such fields which were late to develop in Japan’s spheres of research and education.
 

History of the Program

1984-

RIPS initiated the SSFP Program.

1992-

The SSFP Program received grant fund from the CGP.

2000-

RIPS and CGP co-sponsor the Program.
