Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced vision statement on new policy for Cultural Exchanges in Asia at the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit Meeting (December 14, 2013).

Asia Center will be launched in the Japan Foundation to promote "WA Project" ~Toward Interactive Asia through "Fusion and Harmony"~ for the next seven years by 2020.
(*) Japanese Word WA (和・環・輪) bears various meanings such as peace or harmony (=""), ring or circle (=""), loop or rim (=""). The "WA Project" intends to contribute to creating and enlarging circles of harmony and peace across Asia towards the future.

The Japan Foundation is ready for working on realizing the policy based on the idea that the diverse regions of Asia can harness even greater dynamism if we interactively "get to know each other" through respect, mutual acceptance of our unique culture and traditions, and heart-to-heart exchanges.
The Japan Foundation will be sharing the project details through media including HP and would appreciate if you could provide us your opinions.
As always, we appreciate your continuing support for our activities of "WA" to expand people-to-people exchanges in Asian countries.
