    Since 1985, the Japan Foundation has been awarding The Japan Foundation Prizes for Global Citizenship to organizations and individuals contributing to promotion of international cultural exchange and mutual understanding through community-based activities.
    This DVD reports on activities of recipients awarded up to 2004 in four categories.

    • Civil exchange: cultural exchange between foreign students and local residents
    • Co-existence of multiple cultures in community: multicultural assistance for bicultural marriages and non-Japanese residents
    • International exchange unique to the region: theater and musical festivals throughout Japan

    This DVD introduces the Japan Foundation Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa. Established in 1989, the Institute has been providing Training Programs for Teachers of the Japanese Language and producing Japanese-language educational materials. Also, you can see how the trainees have been applying lessons learned to their activities in their home countries.This DVD shows the role that the Institute plays in the global Japanese-language education.
