From Wednesday, June 27, to Saturday, June 30 2012, the Government of Japan will dispatch a mission for cultural and sports exchanges, headed by Dr. Takashi Shiraishi, President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), and consisting of experts from various fields, to Myanmar in collaboration with the Japan Foundation.

The mission aims to discuss future policies for the expansion and enhancement of cultural and sports exchanges and cultural cooperation between Japan and Myanmar. It will report the results of the discussion to the Japanese government as a policy recommendation.

The Japan Foundation cooperates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the project to dispatch professionals of respective fields. A photo exhibition, a lecture presentation, presentation of a Japanese movie, and other cultural events are to be held in Myanmar in line with the expertise of each member of the mission.
