On December 24, 2007, the Cabinet implemented plans for the streamlining of all Independent Administrative Institutions.
Pursuant to that decision, it was decided to completely close The Japan Foundation Kyoto Office Library as of December 19, 2008.
Circulation and Inter-Library –Loan(ILL) services will be terminated on November 28, 2008, and reading, photocopying, and other library services will end on December 19, 2008.
However, the inquiry service will be maintained by the Kyoto Office.
Books and other library materials now held by the JF Kyoto Office Library will be donated to public institutions in the city of Kyoto and thus can still be used after the closing of the library.
We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused by this decision, and ask for your kind understanding of the situation.
