(2) Continuing Programs and Projects for the World

①Japan Foundation Traveling Exhibitions

Traveling exhibitions having diverse themes such as design, architecture, photography, crafts, budo, and pop culture were held in 115 cities in 65 countries.

②Japanese Film Screenings Overseas

Japanese film festivals and film screenings using the Japan Foundation's film libraries held in 152 cities in 68 countries and 1 region. Financial support given to 15 Japanese film screenings in 11 countries. Also, Japanese anime movie DVDs with foreign-language subtitles were distributed to 109 diplomatic missions in 80 countries and 1 region to hold more Japanese film screenings.

TV Broadcasting Abroad

Japanese TV programs including dramas and documentaries broadcast in 16 countries.

④Support Program for Translation and Publication on Japan

Supported the translation and publication of 30 Japanese books in 16 countries.

⑤International Book Fairs

Exhibited at 17 international book fairs around the world. Besides the exhibition booth, Japanese-language trial lessons held and Japanese culture introduced through lectures, film screenings, traditional performing arts, origami lessons, and manga lessons.

⑥International Art / Architecture Exhibitions

Planned and executed Japan Pavilion exhibition In the Real World: A Storehouse of Contemporary Architecture (Commissioner Kayoko Ota) at 14th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition.
Planned and executed Japan's official participation in Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2014 (Curator: Mizuki Takahashi, Artist: Chim↑Pom).

3.Youth Exchange with China (see)

(1) Long-term Exchange Program for Chinese High School Students

The 30 students on the 8th program cycle completed the program and returned home. The 31 students on the 9th program cycle arrived in Japan.

(2) Opening of New Centers for Face-to-Face Exchanges

Centers for Face-to-Face Exchanges are operating in 12 cities in China (include one that is closed for moving). In fiscal 2014, a total of 31,561 visited the centers (including readers of publications at the venues).

(3) Building a Network for Japan-China exchange

Planned and implemented 12 China visitation projects and five Japan invitation projects. Heart to Heart website provides program information and promotes information sharing and coordination between participants.
