Japan and China...Though these neighboring countries are separated by the sea, many people came and went in the long history to share, create and nurture fine culture through exchange. Now, we would like to cherish this ties and build a
stronger bond in order to creat the future in the East Asia together ...
This is an objective of the Japan Foundation China Center.
The Center provides opportunities and sites to share diverse experiences because in doing so, we can have heart-to-heart communication, and
open the door to our future.
Overview
Using the investment profit of 10 billion yen fund (2 billion by the government; 8 billion by the Japan Foundation) approved as a supplementary budget for fiscal 2005, the Japan-China exchange programs appropriate to a new age as well as programs for promoting mutual understanding in the following three categories are carried out.
Activities
Inviting Chinese high school students
In order to materialize youth exchange between Japan and China as a base for
future Japan-China relations, activities are offered with the following
objectives:
With these objectives, Long-term Invitation of Chinese High School Students, the first program agreed by the Japanese as well as Chinese government, was launched in 2006.

Buildign a network for Japan-China people's exchange
In order to build a base for continuous, grass-root exchange between Japan and
exchange betweenChina, the following activites are carried out.

Setting up Centers for "face-to-face exchanges" at provincial towns in China
Site for exchange and interaction at provincial towns in China is operated in
cooperation with China to provide the latest information on Japanese music,
annimation, manga, fashion and trend, and Japan-China people's exchange. We try to provide information satisfying Chinese people's, young people's in
particular, interests in Japanese culture and society.
In cooperation with the Japanese people living in towns with Centers for "face-to-face exchanges" and the Chinese people with experienc of residing in Japan,
hands-on activities are carried out at the site for grass-root exchange between Japan and China.
