From October of this year, the Japan Foundation is pleased to present and co-sponsor ongoing screenings of Japanese films at the following exhibitions and international film festivals around the world.

| Films Screened: | The Japan Foundation, Seoul, will co-organize a film series with Cinequanon Korea, in which selections from its film library will be screened. The Shohei Imamura retrospective will feature eight films by the leading Japanese director. On August 31, to mark the opening of the series, the Foundation will invite Daisuke Tengan, Imamura's son and a film director himself, to Korea for a talk show with a Korean film critic. |

| Films Screened: | To coincide with the exhibition of photographer Daido Moriyama to be held at the SK Cultural Foundation in Cologne from September 5 to November 18, the Japan Cultural Institute in Cologne will present two documentary films on Moriyama; the movie "Tobenai Chinmoku (Silence Has No Wings)," in which he provided the still photography; works by the late Shuji Terayama, with whom Moriyama had close ties; and other Japanese films selected by the photographer. |
