Yuko Suzuki Piano Concert in Brazil
The Japan Foundation will present a piano concert tour in Brazil by Yuko Suzuki,
who specializes in Brazilian classical music.

During a stay in Paris from 1993 to 1996, Suzuki launched her performing career while studying musicology at the Sorbonne, where she obtained her Maitrise de Musique in 1996. She also studied under Anna Stella Schic, a pupil of renowned Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos.
In 2000 Suzuki gave commemorative recitals for the five hundredth anniversary of Brazil at the Brazilian Embassy (Salle Villa-Lobos) in Paris, the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan Recital Hall, and the Museu da Republica, as well as the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes in Rio de Janeiro.
In September 2002, she was awarded the rank of Cavaleiro in the Order of Rio Branco by the government of Brazil.
