A new wave of Asian designers is sweeping the global high fashion scene. Amid this emerging trend, the Japan Foundation has invited to Japan five young designers from Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India from December 6 to 17, 2006, to promote exchanges with young Japanese designers.
On December 15, a fashion show titled "Asia 5 x Doreme" by the Japan Foundation and Sugino Gakuen/Doreme Gakuin will be held featuring the five Asian designers, as well as several Japanese students enrolled at the Doreme Gakuin.
