Contemporary Dance Tour in Brazil by Miyako Kato Dance Space

Japan-Brazil Exchange Year
The Japan Foundation sends Miyako Kato, a dancer, and her company Miyako Kato Dance Space to five cities in Brazil to perform for Japan-Brazil Year of Exchange and the 100th Anniversary of Japanese Emigration to Brazil.
In addition to works by Japanese dancers such as SAND TOPOS by Akira Kasai, Kim Itoh and Miyako Kato and Miyako Kato? solo NIKKI, new work Laughing Soil, co-production with Brazilian dancers, will be performed. Laughing Soil is a long-term project starting from workshop at Akka, Morioka City in Japan in May 2007, first performance of Japanese version in Tokyo in November 2007, selecting dancers and workshop in Brazil, and finally to performance this time.
The Tour is expected to help Brazilian people? deeper understanding of Japan and to make contributions to the friendly relationship between Japan and Brazil.
