Program to Introduce Foreign Cultures A Beautiful Synthesis of Present and Past
DD SYNTHESIS
During fiscal 1999, it has been decided to extend an invitation to Japan to the folk-music group DD Synthesis from the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and carry out a performance tour in seven venues in Japan.

"Lear" A Theatre Production by the Japan Foundation Asia Center
Asia Center, in collaboration with a top level staff and cast assembled from the six countries of Southeast Asia, produced a new work titled "Lear," which made its debut in Japan in 1997. The production subsequently toured Hong Kong, Singapore, Jakarta, and Perth (Australia) from Jan. 1999.
