The Fifty-Fifth International Speech Contest in Japanese

The Japan Foundation hosts the Fifty-Fifth International Speech Contest in Japanese in cooperation with International Education Center and Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. (The outline is described below.)
We look forward to your active participation in the contest.

This contest is open to all with admission free.
We hope to see a large number of audiences at Plover Hall, Matsue City general culture center.
(The contest is scheduled to be broadcast on NHK Educational TV.)

Date Saturday, May 24, 2014
Starting  time: 1:00 p.m.
Venue Plover Hall, Matsue City general culture center Access(in Japanese), Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture
Qualifications Applicants must fulfill all of the following conditions:
1) native language other than Japanese
2) 15 years of age or older as of the contest day
3) never won the 1st Prize, the Foreign Minister’s Award, or the 2nd Prize, the Education Minister’s Award in past contests
