Inauguration of Center for Japanese-Language Testing
The Japan Foundation extended the Test Division of the Japanese-Language Department and inaugurated the Center for Japanese-Language Testing
on October 1, 2008.

Center for Japanese-Language Testing's Three New Attempts
- The JLPT is scheduled to be administered twice a year starting in 2009. The Level 1 and Level 2 tests will be administered in Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in July, 2009.
- The Center will revise the content of the test. The revised version will be implemented in 2010.
- The Center will conduct Japanese Language Testing research and development, and will also implement joint research on language education assessment in collaboration with J. F. Oberlin University.
