Messages by Previous Participants of Japanese-language Program
for Care worker Candidates from Indonesia.

Our group

Our group consists of 56 participants. All of us are from Indonesia in order to work as care worker. After spending 6 months at the Center, we have come to feel as if each of us were a member of the same one.

How was the Center life?

We had Japanese classes such as grammar, kanji, conversation, and vocabulary for care work Monday through Friday. Before going to class, we always studied in our own rooms. We often enjoyed cooking Indonesian dishes on Saturdays.

We were busy studying everyday, but we enjoyed our life in the Center. There were oral presentation contests, one in October and the other in January. For these contests we had to use Japanese language we had learned in classes.

We experienced a variety of Japanese traditional cultural activities such as calligraphy , tea ceremony, and Aikido. We wore kimono for the first time. Learning Japanese culture is very important.

How was Outside of the Center?

We had cultural exchange meetings with schoolchildren, college students, and elderly people. And we took part in the town festival. On these occasions we introduced Indonesian dances and songs that are representative of our culture.

We had some short trips to places in Kansai Area, for example, to Kyoto, Kobe, and central part of Osaka. We had relaxing and pleasant good time.

Those of us studying at the Center are from many different countries, and we made many friends. Dear friends, all the teachers and staff, thank you very much indeed!
