q How was the Japanese-Language program?

A Thanks to this program, we improved our language abilities as well as we were able to get better understanding of Japanese culture and lifestyle. During the course we had many possibilities to improve public speaking abilities by giving speeches and making presentations. We also had a chance to learn how to use an appropriate speech register matching different situations.
Moreover, we did a lot of sightseeing as well as we experienced traditional japanese culture. The study trips to Hiroshima, Kyoto and Tokyo were very interesting and the experience of staying at Japanese style hotel was a one of a kind!
We could also get to know traditional japanese culture and art by - for example - wearing kimono, visitting No and Kyogen theater or trying calligraphy and aikido. It is unforgettable!

Q How was your life in Japan?

A Japan is a great place to live but it is so different than other european and asian countries. There were many times, when we were astonished with everyday situations but everyone got used to japanese lifestyle very easily. Japanese are very polite and helped us whenever we were in trouble or lost. ?
Moreover we did things that can be done nowhere else but in Japan. For example, during homestay we could take a japanese-style bath and try home made food.
Everyone enjoyed themselves so much that we didn’t feel like coming back home!

Q Advice for future participants, please.(e.g. any suggestion for preparation for coming to Japan?)

A There are many possibilities to introduce your country during your stay in Japan so you should bring with you some brochures, traditional handcraft, ingredients to cook national cuisine as well as ethnic or national robes.
And don’t forget about souvenirs! There is one more thing - everyone tends to buy a lot of souvenirs before coming back home so make sure you have some extra space in your luggage on your way to Japan.
