Documentary Film of Breathing Atolls: Japan-Maldives Contemporary Art Exhibition (28 Minutes) will be Broadcast and Delivered to the World on May 25.

The Japan Foundation presented the first full-scale contemporary art exhibition “Breathing Atolls: Japan-Maldives Contemporary Art Exhibition” at National Art Gallery of Maldives in Male’ city, spanning from March 20 to April 19, 2012. Its homecoming exhibition is scheduled to take place in Tokyo as well.

A documentary film to track the production process of the exhibition in Maldives will be broadcasted overseas on May 25, 2012. The program will be aired outside Japan only through the worldwide network of Japan International Broadcasting Inc. In Japan, only live streaming delivery will be available on the website of Japan International Broadcasting Inc.

The documentary video (28 minutes) to record the production process of “Breathing Atolls: Japan-Maldives Contemporary Art Exhibition” will be delivered to overseas. The program will be broadcast in approximately 130 countries (prospective viewers are about 154,050,000 people) through the network of “NHK World TV” by Japan International Broadcasting Inc.
