Community X Graffiti @ Temporary Dwelling (Tomorrow Business Town) in Ishinomaki

The Japan Foundation hosts a project in which Titi Freak, a Japanese-Brazilian graffiti artist, draws graffiti on the walls of the temporary dwellings in Ishinomaki, Miyagi together with the residents of the community.
The Japan Foundation organizes this graffiti drawing project in the hopes of attaching unique identities to temporary dwellings and thus helping raise the residents' quality of life.

Titi Freak, who was born in Sao Paulo in 1974, is an internationally renowned Japanese Brazilian graffiti artist to lead the graffiti art scene in Brazil. Freak draws graffiti officially permitted or requested by municipalities or owners of buildings at various venues. He works in collaboration with leading companies such as NIKE, adidas and CONVERSE. Freak produces his works invited by numerous organizations in the world. In addition, he actively holds exhibitions at galleries around the world. His works to focus on the cultural fusion between the West and East, race discrimination and poverty issues through art are highly acclaimed.
