| The Library maintains a collection on Japanese-language education
(including Japanese-language study and teaching
materials), general linguistics, and Japanese culture and society. It consists of about 39,200 books, 591 journals, 118 newsletters, 11 newspapers, about 6,670 audio-visual materials, about 760 computer files, about 330 flash-card sets, and 427 microfilms. Library materials are listed on the Library Online Catalog (OPAC). |

| Library collection and facilities are open to
the public. Those who are actively involved in Japanese-language education and who reside in Japan for a minimum of three months can apply for a library card to borrow materials from the Library. The Library card is valid for one year and can be renewed. Please call the Library for detailed information on applying before visiting. (048-834-1185) |

| • | Loan Service: A user may check out up to 5 books and 5 cassette tapes/audio CDs. Loan period is 2 weeks | |||
| • | Reference & Information Services: Librarians will help users to find information and/or materials. | |||
| • | Photocopy Service: Self-service photocopies are available. The cost is ten (10) yen per page. Photocopying is permitted within the limits of Japanese copyright laws. | |||
