ライブラリー ミニ展示「今月の貴重書」

　今月は1858年-1859年にライプツィヒで出版されたヴィルヘルム・ハイネ（Peter Bernhard Wilhelm Heine, 1827-1885）の『中国・日本・オホーツク海域への遠征』（Die Expedition in die Seen von China, Japan und Ochotsk: unter Commando von Commodore Colin Ringgold und Commodore John Rodgers, im Auftrage der Regierung der Vereinigten Staaten unternommen in den Jahren 1853 bis 1856, unter Zuziehung der officiellen Autoritäten und Quellen）を展示します。

ドレスデンに生まれアメリカに渡ったハイネは、ペリー提督の日本遠征に随行し、その遠征記（Narrative of the expedition of an American squadron to the China Seas and Japan: performed in the years 1852, 1853, and 1854, under the command of Commodore M.C. Perry, United States Navy, by order of the government of the United States, 1856年刊）の挿絵画家として知られています。

本書は、同時代にアメリカが派遣した北太平洋測量艦隊の記録を、ハイネがドイツ語に翻訳し、自身の挿絵を収めて出版したものです。
