1 Exhibition of the pictorial "Nippon" edited by Younosuke Natori
This month, the JFIC Library is continuing to exhibit issues of Nippon and Cinema Year Book of Japan 1938 produced by Yonosuke Natori and his Nippon Studio in 1938.
Nippon is a photo gravure magazine introducing Japanese culture and customs. It was made in the form of a "folding book" consisting of a long strip of paper that was folded into papers.
Cinema Year Book of Japan 1938 was compiled by Nippon Studio and published by the Kokusai Bunka Shinkokai, the predecessor of the Japan Foundation. It was produced in order to draw the Western people’s attention to Japanese culture through motion pictures.

1 Exhibition of the pictorial "Nippon" edited by Younosuke Natori
The JFIC library exhibited the pictorial "Nippon" edited by Younosuke Natori, the famous Japanese photographer.
" Nippon" was essentially a propaganda magazine published by Younosuke Natori and his Nippon Studio between 1934 and 1944, and it is known to have been published in 36 issues. It was a large-format graphic propaganada magazine produced in English, German, French and Spanish in order to introduce Japan abroad. Because of its high-quality photographes, its innovative layout and design, and its articles, which had been written by well-established writers, it had a great effect upon the world of graphic design in Japan.
The exhibition items were displayed at a traveling exhibition entitled ,"Natori Younosuke and Nippon Studio [1931-45]" which was shown at 4 venues within Japan between February 11 and December 28, 2006.

2 Exhibition of materials issued from 1992 through 2002
Since October, the JFIC library exhibited some reports and booklets of major programs and events conducted by the JF to commemorate the publication of"30-Year History of the Japan Foundation". The third materials issued from 1992 through 2002 were on display.

Since October, the JFIC library exhibited some reports and booklets of major programs and events conducted by the JF to commemorate the publication of "30-Year History of the Japan Foundation". The second materials issued from 1982 through 1991 were on display.

Haruki Murakami's worksIn the JFIC Library, we exhibited Haruki Murakami’s works in many different languages on the occasion of the special feature "How the World is Reading Haruki Murakami" in the current issue of "Wochi Kochi."

Exhibition of the Arabic Books
In the JFIC library, we are now exhibiting books in Arabic that were donated to elementary school and child-care centers in southern Iraq by the Japan Foundation, "My First Mountain " by Empress Michiko and "Lulie the Iceberg" by H.I.H Princess Takamado, together with photographs taken at the donation ceremony.

Japan Foundation Information Center (JFIC) Library has newly reopened on April 3, 2006.
The JFIC Library provides a variety of media relating to Japan and international cultural exchange.

The Library has added to its collection: "JF Program Reports," introducing JF events, and clippings of articles on international cultural exchange and cultural policy.

Visitors can also purchase JF magazines and catalogues of exhibitions organized by the JF.
