Awards and Prizes
The Japan Foundation confers the Japan Foundation Awards and the Japan Foundation Prizes for Global Citizenship to individuals and groups who have contributed to deepening mutual understanding between Japan and the world through international cultural exchange and to groups who engage in outstanding community-based international cultural exchange, respectively.
The Japan Foundation Awards
These awards are given to individuals or organizations that have made particularly outstanding contributions towards promoting international mutual understanding, friendship, and goodwill through academic, artistic, or other cultural endeavors, and whose activities are expected to continue into the future.
The Japan Foundation Prizes for Global Citizenship
These awards are given to organizations that deepen ties and cooperation between Japanese and foreign citizens, and that exchange wisdom, ideas, and information with each other through international cultural exchange activities rooted in local communities throughout Japan.
