Over the past half century, Japan and ASEAN countries have strengthened their relationship at various levels. ASEAN countries have been undergoing dynamic economic and social changes in recent years, and partnerships between ASEAN and Japan are becoming increasingly important.

The Japan Foundation (JF) has been implementing student exchange programs to provide opportunities for the next generation of young people from Japan and ASEAN countries to deepen mutual understanding and to build networks.
