Facilities

Facilities include an administrative and training building that consists of classrooms, a library, administrative offices, a dormitory building, a Japanese-style house (Jigakudo), etc.

Classrooms
The Institute has eight small classrooms (designed for classes of up to 15 students) and six medium-sized class rooms (30students). Each room is equipped with full audio-visual equipment, including, TVs, a projector, an overhead projector (OHP), and a large screen.

Computer Laboratory
The computer laboratory, equipped with computers and large screen, is available for classes and for independent study by the participants.

There are computers available for participants to use for study and review 24hours a day.

Library
The Library of the Japanese-Language Institute, Urawa, is dedicated to Japanese-language education and boasts an exhaustive collection of Japanese-language teaching materials and related documents from around the world.

Auditorium
The auditorium is of multipurpose design, with a seating capacity of about 200. It can be used as large classrooms for cultural demonstrations, lectures, receptions, parties, etc.

Dormitory Rooms
The Institute has 144 single rooms. Each single room, serving as both study and living space, is air-conditioned and furnished with a desk, bookshelf, closet, TV set, refrigerator, toilet and bath facilities, and telephone.

Each floor has a laundry room equipped with washing machines, dryers and irons.

Participants are free to enjoy themselves by using the karaoke equipment and ping-pong table here.

Participants can use these facilities on weekends to cook for themselves.

With a seating capacity of 100, the self-service dining room serves three meals a day on weekdays.

Japanese-Style House
(Jigakudo)

This Japanese-style building consists of two 15-mat tatami rooms. Participants can experience such traditional arts as tea ceremony and flower arrangement.
