| 1 Grant Program for Japanese-Language Education Activities *The Japan Foundation readjusts the grant programs for Japanese-language education abroad. Existed grant programs, such as the “Grant Program for Japanese-Language Courses Abroad”, “Japanese Speech Contest Support Program”, “Grant Program for Developing Networks of Japanese-Language Teachers and Institutions”, “Grant Program for Japanese-Language Teaching Materials”, has been terminated in fiscal 2009-2010. The “Grant Program for Japanese-Language Education Activities” started from fiscal 2010-2011. |

Grant Program for Japanese-Language Education Activities
This program aims to partially support Japanese
language education activities by targeting teachers and students of Japanese language at institutions and organizations, in countries and regions that cannot readily access direct support from JF overseas offices. |

Dispatching Abroad Program of Japanese-Language Education Interns to Overseas Partner Institutions
This program is intended to support the Japanese-language education overseas through dispatching student interns who study Japanese-language education in universities and graduate schools in Japan.

(1) Graduate Program on Japanese Language and Culture (Master's Course)
This program is designed to provide teachers of the Japanese-language abroad, who are expected to be leaders of the academic world of Japanese-language education in their own countries, with an opportunity to obtain a Master's degree in Japanese-language education.

(2) Advanced Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese-Language
This Program is designed for individuals or teams of up to three people who require more advanced expertise and skills as teachers of Japanese, and have specific challenges they wish to address, or have issues they want to resolve in the teaching of the Japanese language.

(1) Long-Term Training Program for Foreign Teachers of the Japanese-Language
This six month program is designed to provide foreign teachers of the Japanese-language who are early in their career with an opportunity to improve their Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology and to deepen their knowledge of Japan. |

(2) Short-Term Training Program for Foreign Teachers of the Japanese-Language
This two month program is designed to provide teachers of the Japanese-language, who have at least two years of experience in teaching the language, with an opportunity to improve their Japanese-language skills and teaching methodology and to deepen their knowledge of Japan. |

(3) Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese-Language (for Japanese descendants)
This two month program is designed to improve Japanese-language education for Japanese descendants in Central and South America, through providing their teachers with further knowledge on Japanese-language education and honing their skills. |

Program for Specialists in Cultural and Academic Fields
This two/six month program provides specialists (researchers, postgraduate students, librarians, museum curators, etc.) who need a good command of Japanese-language for conducting their field related work and research with an intensive residential training course of Japanese-language. |
