  • On the small table, there are 14 books about Hyakunin Isshu, and Hyakunin Isshu cards are lined up.

The theme of June's monthly display is " Hyakunin isshu ".
Hyakunin Isshu is a classical Japanese collection of 100 waka poems, each written by a different poet. Today, it is also known as a traditional card game played in Japan. The library has a collection of books on Hyakunin Isshu, and we are displaying a selection of them. There are also manga based on Hyakunin Isshu.
