PLENARY SESSIONS

CULCON serves as a framework for senior level dialogue between Japan and the United States focusing on issues related to the promotion of educational and cultural exchange between the two countries. The biennial plenary sessions bring together United States and Japanese CULCON panelists, who identify emerging issues of importance to the US-Japan relationship and ways to address them. The plenary sessions are hosted alternately by the US and Japan CULCON Panels.

The latest Plenary Session:

The 30th US-Japan Conference on Cultural and Educational Interchange(CULCON) held in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. on October 6, 2023
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Website

The meeting featured interim reports on the activities of the two working groups of CULCON (1) Information Sharing and Access in the Digital Age and (2) Subnational Diplomacy / Local & Regional Exchange, followed by discussions on the current status and solutions to the issues and future activities toward the final recommendations.
