August 27, 2024
The Japan Foundation, Toronto, in collaboration with the Agency for Cultural Affairs, UNIJAPAN, the Japan National Tourism Organization, and the Consulate-General of Japan in Toronto, will host the "Japan Film Night" reception. This event, celebrating Japanese cinema and the official selection of Japanese films at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), aims to foster connections between film industry professionals from Japan, Canada, and other countries worldwide.
The Toronto International Film Festival is the largest international film festival in North America, celebrating its 49th edition this year. The festival will take place from September 5th to September 15th (local time), highlighting five feature films entirely or partially set in Japan (*), along with other selected works from around the world. The “Japan Film Night” is a reception that has spotlighted Japanese cinema at TIFF for over a decade, earning widespread acclaim. After a four-year hiatus due to the impact of COVID-19, the event has been revived this year with the support and cooperation of the key stakeholders.
