The JF Library (Tokyo) Book Pick-up Service

About the Book Pick-Up Service

  • The service is available to members of the JF Library(library card holders), Tokyo.
  • Books can be picked up at any time during library hours, 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm on weekdays (no appointment required). If you would like to visit us outside of library hours, please consult with us (visits may be arranged between 10:00 am and 1:30 pm on weekdays).
◆An appointment is required to use the reading room or other library services.

How to Request Books for Pick Up

  1. 1.Reserve books by using one of the following methods:
    • MyLibrary
      Please write in the "Memo" column that you wish to use the pick-up service. If you wish to visit the library during non-library hours, please include the desired pick-up date and time.
    • Email
      Please let us know the following points by email (Lib＠jpf.go.jp):
      (When sending an email, please replace the full-width "＠" character with a half-width character.)
      1. (1)the title of the book that you want to borrow
      2. (2)your name and library card number
      3. (3)desired pick-up date and time if you intend to come to the library outside library hours
  2. 2.Once the request has been processed, you will be sent an email informing you that the book(s) is (are) ready for pick up.
  3. 3.You may pick up the book(s) anytime during library hours or at a pre-arranged time. Please bring your library card with you when you come.

NOTE:

  • ※Please allow 2-5 working days when you request books from the JF Japanese Language Institute, Kansai, Library (Osaka) or the JF Japanese Language Institute, Urawa, Library (Saitama).
  • ※Once your request is ready, you will have 1 week to come to the library to pick up the book(s).
  • ※Please do not come to pick up the book(s) before you receive the email informing you that your request is ready.
