September 26, 2018

Celebrating 40th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China, Japanese Film Screening events will be held in Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Beijing from October 2018. A blockbuster film, “One Cut of the Dead” will be screened for the first time in China, while “Family Story” will make its world premiere.
The Japan Foundation began the Japan-China Film Exchange Program in 2017 to celebrate 45 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and China. The events will invite special guests such as film directors from Japan. Moreover, the JFF Web Magazine is available in Chinese (formerly only in English and Japanese). Following the announcement of the Film Co-production Agreement between the Government of Japan and the Government of the People's Republic of China published in May 2018, this film exchange program is becoming more and more popular, and its lineup of high-profile titles this year is attracting a lot of attention.
