akane-Produced “avantgardey“ to Perform at “Korea-Japan Festival 2024 in Seoul“ －Holding an Exchange Event at a High School
The Japan Foundation (JF) will send the dance team “avantgardey” to perform at the Korea-Japan Festival 2024 in Seoul, Korea. The stage performance, produced by choreographer akane, is part of JF’s Japan Festival Support Program.
The Korea-Japan Festival has been a vibrant annual event in Seoul since its inception in 2005, when it was a key initiative of the “Japan-Korea Friendship Year” commemorating the 40th anniversary of normalized relations between the two countries. Since 2009, the festival has been held annually in Seoul and Tokyo based on the principle of joint implementation by both nations. This year marks its 20th anniversary.
In addition to their festival performance, avantgardey will conduct a dance workshop for local high school students. Through these interactions between avantgardey and Seoul citizens, JF hopes to deepen understanding of Japan across generations in South Korea and further increase interest in Japanese culture.

akane, a visionary choreographer renowned for her creationof the "Bubbly Dance," stands as one of Japan's Premier Producer. She has lent her expertise to choreographing corporate commercials and overseeing video productions. In 2017, she debuted "Bubbly Dance" on YouTube, which has since garnered over 100 million views, cementing her status as a global luminary in the entertainment realm.
avantgardey
A dance crew formed in 2022 led by akane, known for the "Bubbly Dance." They have gained worldwide fame on TikTok and Instagram as the "Mysterious School Uniform and Bobbed Hair Group" with 17 members.
