Exhibiting at the 62nd Bologna Children’s Book Fair

The Japan Foundation (JF) and the Japanese Board on Books for Young People (JBBY) will have a joint booth at the 62nd Bologna Children’s Book Fair scheduled for March 2025 in Bologna, Italy. Children’s literature from recent picture books and storybooks to long-selling titles will be on display as we present Japan’s children’s book industry to overseas publishers, translators, and illustrators.

1. About the Bologna Children’s Book Fair

This largest international children’s book fair was inaugurated in 1964 and has since welcomed people from all over the world who are involved in publishing children’s books. Approximately 1,500 exhibitors from 90 countries and regions are expected to attend the fair’s 62nd edition in March 2025.

2. The JF/JBBY joint booth (Hall 29 C15)

Our exhibits will present the following categories:

3. (3)Chapter Books and Novels for Young People
4. (4)HCAA 2026 Nominees from Japan
5. (5)An Exhibition of Illustrators’ Portfolios

In addition, we will give out a tabloid-sized leaflet summarizing information on the exhibited books.

While at the fair, we will also host portfolio reviews and a number of talks on Japanese children’s books.
