Report

Coinciding with the release of his fist feature film in Japan, Thai director Pat Boonnitipat visited Japan for 12 days, traveling to Tokyo, Aomori, and Kyoto. During his visit, Director Pat engaged in dialogues with creators across diverse fields —from film and literature to architecture and traditional crafts—while directly experiencing their works firsthand.

Director Pat commented, “As I understand it, all this tremendous knowledge could only have been accumulated through the trials and errors of individuals over time, and carefully passed down without being forgotten for thousands of years. I feel a deep sense of gratitude toward these paradigms. During this visit, I had the opportunity to meet people in various fields who are carrying on that spirit, and I drew a great deal of inspiration from them.” We hope that this visit will lead to deeper cultural exchange between Japan and Thailand, and serve as inspiration for Director Pat’s future creative endeavors.
