As a previous recipient of the Japan Foundation Special Prize in the year 1974, the Japanese Cultural Society, Singapore (JCS) is very fortunate to be invited to celebrate this auspicious occasion with you today.

With your support and throughout these many years, JCS has stayed true to its vision and core values to widen the cultural and aesthetics horizons of the Japanese culture to the people in our communities, and to nurture a spirit of harmonious understanding by playing a leading part in promoting Japanese language education in Singapore.

JCS would be celebrating the 60th Anniversary next year, in 2024. Your initial encouragement has carried the Society thus far. We have overcome various obstacles during all these years, the achievements of our Society would not be possible without your motivation and support.

Through your tireless efforts, the Japan Foundation Awards have contributed greater understanding and enhance the friendship between the people of Japan and other nations. Congratulations on this glorious 50th Anniversary and Best Wishes.
