The Japan Foundation China Center

Established in 2006 to facilitate youth exchange, the China Center manages three programs: the Long-Term Exchange Program for Chinese High School Students, in which Chinese students experience life in Japan for 11 months; the Center for Face-to-Face Exchanges, a resource for the latest youth information; and the Heart to Heart Community website, a platform to exchange views on blogs and message boards.

Long-Term Exchange Program for Chinese High School Students

In order to materialize youth exchange between Japan and China as a base for future Japan-China relations, the Japan Foundation invites Chinese high school students to stay in Japan for about a year and to experience Japanese society and culture through everyday life. This program also provides the Japanese people around those invited Chinese students with opportunities to communicate directly with the Chinese youth.

Center for Face-to-Face Exchanges

In cooperation with Chinese counterparts, the Japan Foundation operates Centers for "face-to-face exchanges" at provincial towns in China to provide the latest information on Japanese music, animation, manga, fashion and trend, and Japan-China people's exchange.
