The Japan Foundation (JF) will present Wound and Ground by choreographer and dancer KODAMA Hokuto in Singapore (organized by Dance Nucleus and Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay) on October 15 and 16, 2026, as part of the Performing Arts Professional Exchange Program 2026 co-organized with Yokohama International Performing Arts Meeting (YPAM). The work will be presented as part of Vector#7 Past The Breaking Point, a presentation program featuring dance and installation works.

Wound and Ground is a performance project that confronts and embodies the instability surrounding us since the Heisei era, starting from bodily movements that continuously press against the ground.
Kodama has been developing this project since 2022. In addition to showcasing it in the fringe program of KYOTO EXPERIMENT 2025, he performed it in various forms in Tokyo, Aichi, Kyoto, Yamagata, and Osaka. In Singapore, MASUDA Sachi, a participating artist in the Performing Arts Exchange Program 2024, will perform with Kodama alongside newly participating performers from overseas. The Vector program will be attended by performing arts professionals including festival and theater directors and producers from around the world. Through this program, we aim to foster international interest in Japanese artists and promote the development of foundations for their activities overseas.
