DRUM TAO "BUKYO ~ DRUMHEART" in RUSSIA
At the opening ceremony of the "Japan Year in Russia 2018" scheduled to be held at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow on May 26, 2018, the Japan Foundation is planning to present performances by DRUM TAO, a Taiko performance group that has been attracting attention from all over the world in recent years.
In this Russian performance, we are planning to showcase a new work with a view on collaboration between DRUM TAO members and Russian performers.
To introduce the diverse attractions of Japanese cultures besides the people participating in the "Japan Year in Russia 2018" opening ceremony, we will also present the show at the Moscow Musical Theater.

DRUM TAO, which incorporates diverse genres of melodies and elements of fashion and sports while using Japanese traditional musical instruments, has received a reputation as contemporary Japanese entertainment. DRUM TAO was established in 1993 in Aichi Prefecture, and after moving to Takeda City, Oita Prefecture in 1995, has continued its activities there. This remarkable Japanese drum group draws close to 8 million world attendants in 500 cities in 24 countries worldwide.
