FY2024 ASEAN-Japan Exchange Program for Secondary School Educators

日 ASEAN 中高教員交流事業 ロゴ ASEAN-Japan Exchange Program for secondary school educators

The Japan Foundation (JF) has launched the “ASEAN-Japan Exchange Program for Secondary School Educators” in November 2024 for the first time as part of its broader initiative, “Partnership to Co-Create a Future with the Next Generation: WA Project 2.0”.

This program aims to develop human resources to co-create a future for Japan and ASEAN. Its objective is to provide opportunities for mutual international understanding by promoting a two-way intellectual and cultural exchange between ASEAN and Japan, and by facilitating direct interaction between the program participants and Japanese educators and students.

Participants will attend lectures focused on educational themes and visit a range of educational institutions including elementary, junior high, and high schools in order to gain a deeper understanding of Japan’s educational system. In addition, they will be introduced to Japan’s initiatives toward the achievement of the SDGs as well as traditional Japanese culture, experiences which will help broaden their understanding of Japan from multiple perspectives. Upon their return, participants are expected to share the knowledge and experiences gained in Japan through lectures and classes in their respective educational settings, thereby contributing to the long-term development of ASEAN-Japan relations.
