Japan-China Curator Exchange Program invites young Chinese art professionals to Japan

The Japan Foundation has been promoting continual exchange between Japanese and Chinese visual art professionals through the Japan-China Curator Exchange Program since fiscal 2014. Following up the dispatch of six young curators from Japan to Shanghai and Beijing in March 2015, the program invites eight art professionals, the majority of whom are in their 30s, from China in November.

The twelve-day program consists of Japanese contemporary art lecture, visits to art museums, art spaces, and exhibitions in Tokyo and other cities (Kobe, Hiroshima, and Kanazawa), and exchange with their peers in Japan. Also, the Chinese participants meet again with the Japanese members who visited China in March and continue sharing ideas based on their understanding of art scenes in each other’s countries.
