Ute Meta Bauer is Associate Professor at MIT, Cambridge, USA, and working as a curator of exhibitions and presentations on contemporary art, film, video, and sound, with a focus on transdisciplinary formats. Bauer served as Dean of Fine Art at the Royal College of Art, London from 2012-2013, and she was curator of The Future Archive, Berlin, 2012; Artistic Director of the 3rd Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, Berlin, 2004; and Co-Curator of Documenta11 (2001–2002). From 2002-2005 Bauer served as Founding Director of the OCA in Oslo. She edited numerous publications as Intellectual Birdhouse: Artistic Practice as Research (co-edited with Florian Dombois, Michael Schwab, Claudia Mareis, 2012), and Ute Meta Bauer: Interviews 1992–2010 (co-edited with Marius Babius, 2012).
Gridthiya Gaweewong (Bangkok) is Artistic Director of the Jim Thompson Art Center, Bangkok, and has contributed significantly to the development of contemporary art activities in the city. She has curated numerous exhibitions and films festival including “Bangkok Experimental Film Festival”(1997-2007), “Under Construction” (2002, organized by Tokyo Opera City Cultural Foundation and the Japan Foundation, Tokyo), “Politics of Fun” (2005, HKW, Berlin), “Saigon Open City” (2006-7, Vietnam), “Short Film Festival from Southeast Asia” (2009, Oberhausen), “Between Utopia and Dystopia” (2011, MUAC, Mexico City), “Primitive” (2011, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Bangkok ).
Hou Hanru is an art critic and curator. He served as San Francisco Art Institute Director of Exhibitions and Public Program and Chair of Exhibition and Museum Studies (2006 – 2012). Before joining SFAI, he lived and worked in Paris and has curated many art projects and exhibitions such as the Biennials of Shanghai (2000), Istanbul (2007), Venice (French Pavilion in 1999, Chinese Pavilion in 2007), Lyon (2009) and Guangzhou Triennial (2005), Tirana Biennale (2005), and 5th Auckland Triennial (2013). Hanru has been named as the artistic director of Rome’s Maxxi - Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo, and takes up this post in September 2013.
Mizuki Takahashi is currently working as a senior curator at Contemporary Art Center, Art Tower Mito. Prior to her current position at Art Tower Mito, Takahashi worked as a founding staff of Mori Art Museum in Tokyo. Takahashi has realized cross-disciplinary exhibitions addressing various contemporary cultures from manga, architecture, performance, film, music and visual art. Her curated exhibitions in and outside Japan include “Archigram: Experimental Architecture 1961 – 1974” (Art Tower Mito, 2005), “Julian Opie” (Art Tower Mito, 2008), “8 Days : Beuys in Japan” (Art Tower Mito, 2009, “Quiet Attentions: Departure from Women” (Art Tower Mito, 2011), and “Tadasu Takamine’s Cool Japan” (Art Tower Mito, 2012).
Meruro Washida (born in 1973 in Kyoto) works as a curator for 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. He curated several exhibitions including “SANAA / Kazuyo Sejima + Ryue Nishizawa," "We Humans are Free: From the Collection of S.M.A.K., Museum of Contemporary Art, Ghent," "Atelier Bow-Wow, Iki-Iki Project in Kanazawa," "Kanazawa Art Platform 2008," “Jeppe Hein: 360°,” and "Shimabuku: Noto." He was guest curator for S.M.A.K. Stedelijk Museum voor Actuele Kunst in Gent / Belgium in 2009. The focus of his curating activities is the interdisciplinary phenomenon of contemporary art and architecture, the locality, and the participation.
