Survey of Japanese Studies in the People’s Republic of China (2018)

Japan Institute of Nankai University (Tianjin, China) conducted the survey of Japanese Studies in the People’s Republic of China for the first time in 10 years. The last survey was carried out from 2008 to 2009. This survey was performed in cooperation with the Japan Foundation.

This survey is aimed at academic societies, institutions and scholars related to Japanese Studies in China. According to the survey, there were 118 academic societies and institutions relevant to Japanese Studies and 1,609 scholars engaged in such studies in China. The number for each category has increased from the last survey (academic societies: 100, scholars: 1,041).

The analysis reports for the survey are uploaded below (Analysis Report 1 and 2). The lists of academic societies, institutions and scholars collected in this survey are undisclosed due to privacy protection.
