Program for Dispatching "’Japanese for Life in Japan’ Coordinators”
Purpose of Activities
A "’Japanese for Life in Japan’ Coordinator” works to promote the establishment of a Japanese-language learning environment overseas and to provide necessary assistances for those who wish to come to Japan under "Specified Skilled Worker (i)" residence status scheme They are also contributing to promoting understanding of "Specified Skilled Worker" residence status in subject countries.
Location of Activities
As a rule, the Coordinator is dispatched to overseas offices of the Japan Foundation (JF). Based in the capital, where the overseas office is located, the Coordinator covers relevant organizations around the area, and reaches out to rural areas in response to local needs.

Main Activities
The Coordinator conducts surveys of the current environment regarding Japanese-language education at organizations JF supports (through institutional visits, hearings, and information gathering). And after be aware of the needs. They also work to introduce and support the use of Irodori: Japanese for Life in Japan, a Japanese-language textbook developed by JF, in cooperation with Japanese-language specialists dispatched by JF and various staff members in charge of Japanese-language education in the office. In addition, Coordinators engage in promotional activities at various seminars, at events and using SNS to popularize the "Japan Foundation Test for Basic Japanese (JFT-Basic)" that can be used to apply for "Specified Skilled Worker (i)" status.
